Wokking Inn - Epping

I went to this restaurant for dinner with some friends and ordered a few dishes. While the food was good, I was shocked at the price of a chicken dish that cost $78. The evening ended with a rude cashier who rolled her eyes when we requested separate bills. She did not handle the situation well and did not split the bill appropriately. This behavior was completely unacceptable.

We dined at the restaurant and could hear a very loud argument coming from the kitchen. The argument continued throughout our visit. The menu was poorly designed with minimal explanations, and both the Chinese and English descriptions were lacking. There were no photos to help us visualize the dishes. Our orders arrived quickly, but one dish was beautiful while the other was not what we had ordered - we received an egg omelet with shrimps instead of the Sauté fish we requested. When we questioned the waitress, she mentioned that the menu had been translated incorrectly. The dish we received was flavorless and we only ate a few shrimps before leaving the rest. We were charged $29 for the incorrect dish, but after much discussion, the restaurant reluctantly offered a $9 discount on the bill. The dishes were expensive and the food and service were subpar. We believe there are better dining options in Eastwood and will not be returning to this restaurant.

Our family was treated to a delicious dinner at the Working Inn in Eastwood, Sydney. Despite its small size and limited seating, we enjoyed a wonderful meal seated around a round table with 10 people, including a child. Each dish was served beautifully and was incredibly flavorful. The standout dish was the sweet and sour pork, which was both large in portion and rich in flavor. A highlight for me was the huge bowl of Chinese coconut chicken soup with conch, which was sweet and filled with various delicious ingredients. However, the most impressive dish was the crabs with sticky rice, where the crab sauce infused the rice with a delightful, fragrant flavor. This unique culinary experience was led by a retired chef with a creative touch, offering a range of delicious and inventive Chinese dishes.

We were treated by our family in Sydney for a very nice dinner in Workking Inn.It is in Eastwood, a suburb having quite a number of Chinese restaurants. It has neither grand decoration nor many seats. We had to sit pretty packed at the round table in order to fit 10 people including 1 kid. All dishes were big in portion and very delicious. The sweet and sour pork dish was huge and scrumptious.I was first impressed by the huge bowl of Chinese soup with coconut, chicken and giant conch. There were plenty of residues and the soup was really sweet. The most impressive dish was the crabs with sticky rice. The sauce of crabs all went to the rice – so yummy and full of crabs’ scent favour. It was also my first time that I tried this special dish.It is run by a retired chef who has got creative ideas to make unique Chinese dishes.

Slow service but ok, never fails, 10-15 minutes to get our order. Service is always friendly though
