The salad dish and the homemade brathwurst came in large portions. Luckily we were hungry after a long walk.... As usual in this type of restaurants the prices are low for the quantities and quality you get.
Hummelswalder hof Bottenau, Germany We stumbled upon this place on a Saturday afternoon hike near Durbach. Maybe they were busy but we weren't greeted and eventually we sat down after the question. Then we waited 15 minutes to be noticed. After receiving menus, it took...an additional 15” before we finally met a passing waiter who happily took our order. Our salads came but we had no cutlery. It was comical now. Our fresh, flavorful salads were followed up with our sausages and fried crispy onions and packaged mustard?! A local or homemade mustard would have been a better choice. From the outdoor terrace there is a great view of the wine valley. Several goats passing below and a cute barn kitten visited our table. Large parking lot. Clean bathroom. A nice walk through the vineyards to our car near the grotto.
Just a nice place to visit. Food is good and value is good too. Maybe not the most fantastic place in the world but everyone was friendly an overall pleasant experience
We found a magnificent view of the valley full of vineyards above Durbach. The service is ok. The meals that are served were really good stuff and not too small. We look forward to tasting typical Baden food with a large selection of regional vines.
In its way it is a charming rustic restaurant. We had fried chicken and Jägerschnitzel with fried potatoes and salat and three 0, 5 l beer. We enjoyed it and paid 32 €.
