I have mixed feelings about this place. the most deadly catch was great and is more than enough for four and for four, it is a great worth. our server should have told us that it would serve four. we took half of it home. the crabcake, for the birthday child, we are not good, too much brot. he should have sent her back. the Cajun catfish was good. the cork fee is very reasonable and the chilled glasses provided by our server was a beautiful surprise. the birthday dessert, a apple enchilada with ice was very good. So note what they order and ask the portion size.
We always have a great meal at this place. It is nice to support a local owner and her mother who work so hard. the crab is always great and the healed and the chips are also wonderful.
Great stop. Go in and grab a Boil It 's a bowl of goodness.
This was my first visit since the ownership change a couple of years ago. Came in on a Friday at 7 with a group of six for a BDay dinner. Food challenges: 1. The advertised “Fri/Sat special” of oysters on the half shell was unavailable. 2. The signature Voodoo Shrimp dinner was delivered with some already peeled cocktail shrimp. 3. The “Peel and Eat Shrimp” boil was unavailable due to “running out” of shrimp. 4. The jambalaya was dry, contained far too few shrimp and was bland. 5. The bread, a key item for mopping up sauces, was not delivered until the end of the meal. Service challenges: 1. Water was requested early, but was not delivered until well into the meal. 2. Bar service required me to track down the server and request a second round. 3. Entrees were delivered at erratic times disrupting the flow of the meal. 4. In general, Service was very spotty and the wait staff appeared overmatched. For the overall value, prices were pretty high. We may try again, but the Sand Crab has definitely dropped a number of spots on my list.
