We were staying in the hotel, so ate there. The set menu offered us a good choice, but there were additional dishes available a la carte. I had a vegetable tartare with Parma ham as a starter, my husband had penne salad with chicken. Mains were an enormous pot of moules for me (it was our first night in France!), he had a beautifully cooked steak. Dessert coffee gourmand (I'd ordered tea, but had apologies and an offer to get tea, but I had had trouble deciding whether to have tea or coffee, so it didn't matter).and creme brûlée, which he said was delicious. We ate outside, and had apologies as we were at a table not lit by the wall lights. A large candle was brought! We liked it. Breakfast next morning was typical hotel chain buffet - but lovely bread, and pastries and a good fresh fruit salad.
Ate here on 2 nights. I ordered rose wine and leek and salmon tart starter- served white wine and wrong starter. Next night pork was inedible as it was tough and undercooked.
Little or no pride was evident in the food that was presented in the restaurant. French cuisine is famous for its sauces, a know of garlic butter on a steak just doesn't cut it anymore!
We came upon the hotel when searching for somewhere to stay for the night close to the Euro Tunnel. (Approx 50 min drive) We had a family room which was clean, modern and very comfortable. The staff were excellent, very warm and welcoming. They were very accommodating to our needs with two young children and made our stay a very pleasant experience. We had dinner in the restaurant which was fantastic. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a stay in northern France either to or from crossing the channel. Very good indeed.
