Los Gordos Mexican Grill - Fair Oaks

I am from out of town and my cousin, who lives in Citrus Heights, says she always comes here for the Menudo. I loved the hole-in-the-wall vibe and it seemed easy to get to as well as having a nice area to park.I wanted to try the Chilaquiles, but my cousin ordered for all 5 of us, Menudo, while her son got the Asada plate.The broth, tripe and I forget if it had hominy or not, but I remember it had great flavor, and comes with all the expected trimmings and side tortillas. I made a point to try my younger cousins rice off of his Asada plate and indeed the rice was really good.Inside the decor is not memorable and I felt it was a bit humid. They have micheladas, and domestic and import bottle beers.Overall this place was really good and I would come back just for the Menudo.

The food and service here are great, but my favorite thing about visiting Los Gordos is the community. The staff has a loyal clientele. It's like everyone is just popping over to their friend's kitchen for a bite to eat and a chin wag.Wheelchair accessibility: It can get a little tight when the place is full, but ADA parking is right in front of the door and ordering is fine. The staff is happy to accommodate when they're available. Bathrooms are clean and accessible for a small wheelchair.

Delicious!! Had the carnitas burrito and quesadilla. Very friendly too. Kind of a plain dining area, but clean. It's our favorite place, now.Food: 5/5

Won't go back....Street Tacos were good. Crispy tacos were trash. (Like the worse)Service was almost as bad as the crispy tacos.Food: 2/5

Service was great. It didn't look busy and got my ordered pretty quick. 5 stars for the service. 3 stars for the food. I have high expectations for tacos. Being Mexican, it's so hard to find good Mexican food. It had good reviews and it decided to check it out since I was in town. Chips were not even homemade chips. You can tell they're from the packed chips you can buy at smart and final. Salsas did not have good flavor. I've had worse tacos and that is the reason why I give it 3 stars. They were edible but I would not go back.
