The restaurant review would have been better if it weren't for the poor management of a large group of rowdy male golfers. The group was already loud when we arrived, but they continued to get louder and louder throughout our meal. The waitress had trouble hearing our orders due to the noise, resulting in some mistakes. Despite being seated at a reasonable distance, the group's volume was so excessive that it disrupted our experience. The manager did not intervene to address the issue. The food was of good quality and everyone enjoyed it, but we had to remind staff a couple of times to bring dessert menus. Overall, it was a shame that the rowdy group detracted from an otherwise pleasant dining experience at a lovely restaurant with friendly service.
I recently attended a wedding at The Ross suite where the food was exceptional. However, there was room for improvement in how they clean their pint glassware. The pints were coming out with lots of bubbles, which may have been caused by washing them with cups or other contaminated items. Additionally, there was a lack of availability of local Irish lagers like Harp or Rockshore. The food was great, but the beer selection should be given the same attention, especially considering the price.
I wasn’t going to write this review because I don’t like to be negative but this was just such a bad experience I feel I need to share it. Firstly, we waited an hour on any food coming out. We ordered 3 10oz sirloin steaks and when they arrived I couldn’t quite believe what I was seeing! These steaks all cost £34 each and they were shocking! Tiny! One of our party had ordered their steak well done and it looked like something someone threw on a BBQ at a drunken party and forgot about it! It was charred black! I’d also seen bigger burgers. I could not believe a chef would let food like that out of the kitchen. Let alone have the audacity to charge £34 for it!! The waiting staff were pleasant and sent another steak equally as bad and offered drinks to compensate but our meal had been ruined. We ordered ice cream for dessert but after waiting 20 minutes for it in an empty restaurant we decided to just leave. I’m still annoyed at the scandalous price of the steaks we got served up. There are places doing steak much much better that don’t cost anywhere near these prices. In my opinion, don’t waste your hard earned.
We arrived about 20 minutes before our booking but this wasn’t a problem we were shown to an area and given a choice of a few different tables, lovely to be able to choose which one we would like. We ordered chicken caesar salad and chicken wings for starter, both were really tasty, for mains we had fish and chips and the burger again both were lovely and all big portions. There was a nice break between courses, the staff were pleasant and attentive would definitely recommend
