We had been going to Starwood since they opened--always good service and food for a decent price. When we went for breakfast unknowingly at the Cracked and Crepe, we were disappointed in several areas. First off, there was no signage of the change--having something on the door saying 'pardon our transition ' would have helped set expectations. The interior is the same, menu mostly the same with a slight increase in prices. We waited 45 minutes to get our food with no explanation or apologies. Both our orders had minor errors (no cheese on scrabbled eggs or crispy hashbrowns: both were on the receipt, so I guess this was a kitchen error) My entire meal was luke warm at best. Chicken Fried Chicken was over cooked. Pancakes were doughy and pale. The waffle was good though. We will give it another go in a few months and maybe they will work things out. Otherwise we will be looking for a new breakfast spot.
Both our breakfasts were very mediocre. My wife's eggs benny was luke warm with little taste and my French toast was pitiful looking. Not like other Starwood Cafes I have been too!
We ate at the Starwood Cafe in Highland Village earlier this summer and were very impressed. Lots of great options, the food is reasonably priced, yummy and all great portions. This location is super cute and friendly staff. We will be back.
Got to restaurant a little after noon on Saturday with about 1/4 of the tables with customers. Waitress came immediately for our drink order and brought promptly. She was VERY friendly. My wife ordered a skillet with chicken sausage and pancakes and I had berry crepes. While waiting for our order the lady at an adjacent table sent her meal back as it was not what she ordered. A table behind us, not occupied while we were there to that point was not bussed with 3 people at the hostess position and 2 wait staff standing nearby talking. Our waitress, a very nice and polite person brought our meals. My wife had to expel her food as the sausage tasted aged and spoiled and had a strange color in my opinion. She could not eat the remainder. Of the 3 crepes I had 1 dad no berries in it and 2 had a few. The taste was strange as if fried in a strange tasting oil as was my wife's pancakes. When the waitress returned to the table she was advised about the sausage. She said she would tell the cook. The skillet meal, uneaten, was not offered to remove from the bill and no visit from the manager. A disappointment in food, lack of 2 nearby tables not bussed and no consideration for food issues. First and last time. Unfortunate.
As most everyone when it comes to food I get serious lol. While on my break from work I decided to pick up some breakfast for me and a coworker. I was told 10-15 which really means 30 which didn’t bother me at all. However once the food was received missing items were gone so I had to leave work again to get them. I probably should’ve checked my bag. What I saw was a hostess overworked with little help, doing her best. As someone who has work in food service I understand all these issues are due to management. Please remember be kind to the staff they are typically overworked and underpaid. And don’t get paid enough to deal with grown people yelling at them over eggs. Be kind and the world will be good to you<3 (food was pretty good tho)
