Contribuisci feedbackOff the beaten path, Gilles has created a unique restaurant where all the food is homemade some of it from his own garden. The dishes are typically from Savoie and it is like eating at your grandparents’ place. It is not fancy but bona fide food from the region in a typical atmosphere. Gilles is a knowledgeable, pleasant host who will take the time to talk and tell you about the area. This is about the 5th time we have gone as we always go when we have guests or visitors outside the region. Thank you Gilles for such an agreeable experience every time!
This restaurant is way off the beaten track high on the hillside above Flumet, but if you want a completely different evening this is the place to go no raclette, no fondue, no tartiflette, just genuine local recipes cooked by the owner, Gilles, in a lovely old farmhouse chalet with sheep living in the lowest part. Gilles speaks excellent English and is a mine of information about the area it’s history, language and culture. The cooking is traditional peasant food in the best sense of the word, and the fact the restaurant is full of local French customers who greet Gilles as a friend tells you that this is a great place.
Very good experience in this remote but easily accessible corner. Do not forget to book and order your typical dish of the region and the tour is played, your host will do the rest between good mood, local anecdotes and advice of all kinds, and of course a very good meal! We had a good time.
We booked this hostel for several nights. Very beautiful frame. a good local cuisine. We took several meals. Unfortunately, the report of this m. canova with us was lamentable, not professional and sometimes frankly aggressive. He always complained about us, our dog (which has not yet been criticized) and other customers. he seems to have never come out of his valley, and not know the word “hospitality”. We kept this stay, which was to be a nice party, a very bad memory. conclusion, the restaurant is good (if it is good to welcome you) accommodation is to flee absolutely.
Good reception in simplicity, atmosphere, old chalet, friendly where we are immediately at ease. A meal consisting of traditional, appetizing local recipes, good parts in the plate and more local, organic ingredients. Inlet and digestive aperitif and coffee at the end of meals. And the note is not at all excessive So if you want to eat and spend a good time off I recommend this mountain inn
