Altstadt Brewery - Fredericksburg

If you are seeking authentic German cuisine, you may be let down. Alstadt offers many menu items that are twists on traditional German dishes and they miss the mark. The restaurant should consider returning to its original roots.

This brewery has a cool exterior and interior. The appetizers and entrees we tried were delicious, we enjoyed traditional German dishes. The beers were fantastic and served cold. They also have a selection of beers for purchase in a fridge and souvenirs on a wall near the entrance. I highly recommend visiting this place and don't forget to try the beer flight!

Came here with my best friend. We both really enjoyed the food. There was about a 45-50 minute wait for a table.I had the Altstadt Breakfast Sandwich and my friend had the chicken schnitzel. The sandwich was absolutely delicious and did not disappoint. The chicken schnitzel was good also. Perfectly cooked and very good texture.

I am so pleased we stopped here! We wanted to come last year, but due to COVID, we’re unable. The food is delicious, and the service is sensational, Courtney with her gorgeous pink hair really took care of us. 10/10 would recommend!!

We were hopeful about this restaurant due to its beautiful exterior, but unfortunately it ended up being one of our worst experiences in the hill country. The beer garden had potential, but the beer was flat and tasteless. The food was disappointing, with my husband's fish and chips being overpriced and subpar, and my burger being oversalted. The atmosphere felt like a cafeteria and the service was lacking. Overall, our experience was extremely disappointing and we wouldn't recommend this restaurant for a good meal in Fredericksburg. Despite the positive reviews, we cannot fathom how anyone could have enjoyed their time here.
