Cinnaholic - Gaithersburg

UPDATE: I am satisfied with the owner's response to my concerns, so I have decided to update my review from one star to three stars.

This restaurant is truly amazing! It is a gem for anyone with food allergies. My partner and I have been coming here to Maryland once or twice a year since 2020, and every time my partner provides the staff with a list of my allergies. The final dishes never disappoint: they are fresh, not overly processed, and perfectly balanced in terms of sweetness. The presentation is top-notch, and most importantly, they cater to my life-threatening nut and dairy allergies. The staff takes our requests seriously every year, allowing me to enjoy items like cinnamon rolls without any fear of an allergic reaction. Even if I didn't have allergies, I would still order from this place because the food is that good. Our pre-orders have always been spot-on, and we typically order 12 cinnamon rolls when we visit from the West Coast. This restaurant truly feels like home to me. Highly recommended!

I recently visited Cinnaholic for the first time with friends from out of town who were eager to try their cinnamon rolls. When I arrived at 7:30 pm and tried to order 6 rolls, I was told they only had 2 left and making more would take 16 minutes. Despite being willing to wait, I was met with resistance and called inconsiderate for ordering so close to closing time at 9 pm. I managed to buy 3 rolls, but only after some difficulty. While waiting, another customer who had been promised a wait time returned, only to be turned away empty-handed. Throughout my wait, several other customers were also turned away. The manager, William, responded with a generic apology and did not address the multiple complaints from that night. I will not be returning to Cinnaholic and will not recommend this location to others.

I am not vegan and I was hesitant to ever visit this establishment given that I've had some pretty bad experiences with vegan food. However, I had a pregnant friend who was craving cinnamon rolls and this place was open and very close to where I live. The service here is wonderful, and I love that the rolls are made fresh to order. I bought the Old School for my friend and the Cookie Monster for myself, and I do have to say that the Cookie Monster is a bit too sweet and over-the-top but the actual base cinnamon roll was BEYOND amazing. I will definitely get the old school next time! As for the physical restaurant, it was overall very clean but I don't think the bathrooms are cleaned overnight because I was the first customer of the day to use it and it was not the best situation.

We had a very bad experience with the employee working around 2PM on Wednesday March 8th at the Gaithersburg location. She had very bad customer service. She didn 't welcome us into the store and she seemed very lethargic. She questioned our choices in toppings with a definite attitude. When I asked what kind of coffee they served, she pointed to a sign behind her and said, we don 't have lattes. This isn 't Starbucks. She behaved as if we interrupted her day, but the store was completely empty. It definitely negatively impacted our family 's experience.
