After a day of kayaking, I visited the restaurant with friends and family. The owner graciously opened early to accommodate our hunger. Despite the rush, the service was prompt and we were all served quickly. The burgers were fantastic and we were all very impressed. Thank you Anchor Inn for a great experience!
This small town dive bar restaurant is surprisingly good. The owner, Boon, who is also the cook and bartender, is very friendly although a bit difficult to understand (I believe he is Vietnamese). Half of our group ordered burgers and the other half opted for the massive tacos on Taco Tuesday. My burger was delicious, but I couldn't help but envy my friend's giant taco. Boon mentioned that he will be starting the Oriental buffet again in the fall on Thursday nights. If we find ourselves in Garber again, we will definitely make a stop at Boon's place for some tasty small town cuisine.
The Anchor Inn, owned by Boone, is one of the few remaining businesses in Garber. Boone has built a loyal customer base of friendly patrons who often travel from far distances to visit her. The bar is known for its Bush Light, Boone Burgers, cheese curds, and mini tacos. If you visit the Anchor Inn, it's likely that someone at the bar will treat you to a round of drinks before you depart. The Anchor Inn is truly reminiscent of Cheers in northeast Iowa.
Original review: "Las cervezas de raíz en este restaurante son increíbles. Tienen un sabor tan único y auténtico, definitivamente son las mejores que he probado. ¡Recomiendo encarecidamente probarlas cuando visites este lugar!"
