Haven't been to Powderhaus for about 2 years and thought I would give it another try as they were advertising $3 happy hour beers. Turned out that was only on their lager, and had to buy food from the food truck to get the price. So instead ordered a beer off the menu, showed it at $6.50 and $8 (I presumed for pint or 20oz). He poured the beer and then told me $10.50. Said it was because it was nitro. Then rang it up and told me $11.05. I then saw it was just a tulip so asked for my money back and to just cancel the beer. He was nice enough to refund my money and kept apologizing, saying it was his 2nd week, so I don't blame him. Hopefully the owner will do a better job in the future with onboarding...so critical.
The best brewery in Boise as far as I'm concerned, but I gravitate towards German style beer. I originally visited this brewery years ago specifically because of their dill pickle beer, the Gherkin Gose. I figured if they were daring enough to make a beer like that, which is one of their flagship beers, the other beer must be great as well. I was not disappointed. There are so many beers on tap that could be considered flagship. The atmosphere and the design of the building is fantastic. They also have live music every weekend as well as food trucks. The bartenders are great as well.
Fantastic experience, totally swamped for St. Pat's, but solid friendly service, incredible selection seem to always be there. Add the music and Crisp food truck and it becomes a great time!
Live music solo guitarist was great. Lots of well mannered dogs. Very nice crowd. We were here at grand opening years ago but haven't been here for about a year. It keeps getting better every time we go. Will be back when the music guy comes back at end of month
