Recently, we purchased a Groupon voucher to use, but we were unable to dine on a Tuesday night as the restaurant was closed. We returned the next night at 6pm, even though the restaurant supposedly closes at 7pm, only to be told they were closing early. We decided to give our voucher to our daughter and her friend to use instead. Unfortunately, they were served undercooked empanadas in a takeaway box with no drinks, and a disappointing dessert. We were not impressed with the service or the quality of food provided. As a result, we will not be returning to this establishment and regret recommending it to others. The restaurant should reconsider how they advertise their "Latin Feast" on Groupon to avoid further disappointment for customers like us.
I usually don't write reviews, but this experience was so terrible that I felt I had to warn others! I ordered two servings of empanadas, a Bolognese pasta, and a Latin stew. The empanadas were supposed to take 10 minutes to cook, but they took about 20 minutes. The lady asked if I wanted the pasta and stew warmed up because she thought it might get cold on the way home, but I declined and said I would heat it up myself. When I got home, I found that the pasta sauce, pasta, and stew were all frozen solid. I called the restaurant to ask how I was supposed to feed my son, and was told to just microwave the frozen products. When I mentioned that we didn't have a microwave, she said that many restaurants serve frozen food. This was the first time I had received frozen food from a restaurant. The lady offered to cook something fresh if I came back, but I was too frustrated and had a sleeping child in the car. When we tried the empanadas at home, some of them had a strange liquid coming out, indicating they had also been frozen. I will never return and suggest others avoid this place. Very disappointed. :(
I am not one to usually wright a review but the food was so yummy i decided to make an exception and have no problem in recomending them =) Cheers Jeremy
The chorizo burger (with home made chorizo) was delicious and came topped with a generous helping of spicy chimichurri. The beef empanadas were good too. The young man behind the counter was very friendly and helpful. This place is like a tiny supermarket with a good range of South & Central American grocery items.
Got takeaway using a Groupon! Very friendly and helpful service! Delicious food - especially the empanadas!! Most enjoyable and great to be able to buy authentic South American food on the Gold Coast!!
