We would be disappointed if we did not eat seafood when visiting the Gulf Coast. We started our meal with Crab Fingers. We had them fried as well as Leeville Style . The fried ones were great as well as the Leeville Style. The Leeville Style came in a mushroom cream sauce. (my guess is it is some kind of cream of mushroom soup but saying that they were still very good. My wife and I both ordered the 1/2 1/2 plate, fried oysters and shrimp. The oysters and shrimp were cooked perfectly. We didn 't eat any gumbo on this trip but the gumbo here is very good! If you are near Leeville, you really should think about eating here. There is nothing fancy about the place but they do have good seafood.
We just enjoyed lunch at this charming restaurant. The interior is plain, but the artwork everywhere is wonderful. To make matters better, the food was ca c'est bon! My husband had a bowl of seafood gumbo and I had shrimp, crab corn chowder. The server asked my husband what kind of hot sauce would you like and do you want file with that? File? No one has asked that ever. Yes to file and Tabasco. The meal was nothing short of perfect. We were very impressed! They have a large menu of seafood and steaks and poboys. Open for lunch and supper. Go!
Not only is this the first review for this restaurant, I think it 's the first for this town. Leeville is so small that it 's actually the only restaurant. We were traveling from Grand Isle to New Orleans coming from Tarpon Rodeo, and I was ready to eat. At 9:30pm in the middle of the Gulf, I didn 't care what this place served. We walked in and were absolutely blinded. It was really dark outside (in the middle of nowhere), and inside the ceiling is full of fans all with like five bright white bulbs. The place was lit up like Vegas. Otherwise, it looked like your typical seafood restaurant, unassuming and comfortable. The waitresses were all very pleasant and helpful with recommendations. I love how they say cute things like I 'm from down the bayou and what not. OMG THE FOOD! It was soo good. Granted, I was really hungry, but everything was delightful. We had stuffed mushrooms..best I 've ever had...a soft shell crab with creamy goodness on top and shrimp and corn soup...almost as good as my own. The only thing I 'd change was the spice. They need to kick it up a notch or put some Tony 's one the table. I don 't plan on driving ALL the way to Grand Isle any time soon, but if I do I know that I won 't go hungry.
This place is in the middle of nowhere but if you want great seafood go out of your way to eat here. My husband and I eat here all the time. I suggest you try the stuffed crab special, The stuffed shrimp, the Gumbo, and the bacon warped shrimp are great also. They have a lunch special Monday Friday. No matter what you order you can't go wrong. The wait staff is great here.
Leeville Seafood is the closest restaurant outside the toll road that I would recommend as a decent sit-down dining option. It’s the only alternative for those working at the slips who are tired of dining at Moran's Marina, Kajun Buffet, or Hunts Brothers Pizza. Prices start at around $10 per plate and can easily reach $20 to nearly $30. I ordered the grilled grouper with shrimp étouffée for about $22. As shown in the picture, the grilled grouper was well-cooked and flavorful. However, the portion size left me a bit unsatisfied, as I tend to eat a lot. The étouffée was also tasty, and the shrimp was fresh. If I had to choose again, I might go for something deep-fried instead, as those dishes seemed to offer larger portions—probably due to the accompanying fries, which tend to be more satisfying (even if they aren't as healthy!). Each meal comes with a small side salad, but don’t expect much. The veggies in ours were quite brown at the edges and had a limp texture. While the wait time for our food was a bit lengthy, it wasn't a big issue because I was enjoying good company.
