We were celebrating a special anniversary by travelling the wonders of Tassie's west coast and northern parts. The Old Black Stump was selected solely on the basis of positive Trip Advisor reviews and that proved to be an inspired decision! We were staying at a B

The welcome was warm and attentive. The food was very good - steak, flathead, yummy chips, salad, prawn gyozas. After two courses each it was impossible for us to fit a dessert in! The only unusual thing was that the mains came out while I was still only half way through entree. My meal was taken away and kept hot until I finished my entree, however my friend's meal remained for her to eat straight away. Not a disaster, but unusual.

Had dinner here when staying at Moina. 16 long kms on a dark, narrow windy road in a rental car with terrible headlights. WORTH EVERY MINUTE!This restaurant is the absolute definition of a hidden gem. The food is not pretentious, and is totally delicious. The steak is one of the best I have had in quite a few years. Veges cooked perfectly. The pork fillet was tender, tasty and cooked perfectly. Entrees and desserts were just as good. The staff are all ultra friendly, and Tony the owner and his lovely wife (the chef) made us feel totally at home.Totally loved the food and the service. Go there!

Awesome cape grim steak and a great Tasmanian red. Terrific staff. This place is a hidden gem and deserves to be listed amongst the best in Tasmania.

The moment you walk into the restaurant you feel right at home. The best customer service, fantastic banter, knowledge and atmosphere. We were well impressed with the menu and blown away by the quality of the food. We took our granddaughter and she was very happy with her choices on the kids menu. We were full of excellent food, great wine and customer service. Wish we had this place down the road we would be regulars for sure, but we will be back. We ended up having 3 courses each because we really wanted to taste it all.
