We loved this cafe in 2018 when we last visited Granada and it has not changed. It's still a great little spot to grab a coffee and a breakfast pastry or toast-n-tomato. Highly recommended if you're in the neighborhood. One caution: It gets quite busy and it's very small. So if you cannot get in, try again the next day.
Best all around breakfast that we had all trip. Food was amazing but it was about way more than the food. We showed up in the middle of the breakfast rush and nestled ourself into the bar area as the patio tables (with a view of the Alhambra) were all taken. It was small inside, but cozy. I also couldn 't help but notice that for a restaurant in a highly touristy area, there were an awful lot of locals there. On this day it was a 2 man show. The owner of the restaurant (Bale, Vale couldn 't quite understand) was behind the bar, taking orders, cranking out drinks, greeting people, laughing with everyone, sprinting outside to take care of the outside tables, kissing his son on the head and giving him a pep talk before kicking him out the door to go to school. The guy was amazing. The other guy was in the back was cooking like crazy but would frequently pop out briefly to greet a friend or heckle/laugh with one of the locals. Unbelievable energy from the duo. The attention to detail with the food and drinks was also on another level. This was our last stop in a 10 day trip through Andalucia so I had eaten plenty of tostadas to this point. The tostada was technically the main thing they served but the tomatoes were somehow better, the jamon seemed more savory, the types of bread they chose was dependent upon the toppings (the whole wheat toast was on another level), each dish, despite being toast, was more than just toast. Near the end of the rush a local came in and the owner asked if he wanted to try something different. He quickly pulled out a metal ramakin, put a little brandy in it, some orange peel, cinnamon and a few espresso beans and lit the thing on fire. He let it burn, away from the commotion until the alcohol was removed, strained it and put the magical elixir into a latte and handed it to the man.. all while taking orders, and closing out checks. As he handed it to him, in broken English he said Winter is Coming... . Needless to say we went back the next day and I ordered one.
Excelente trato, personal muy agradable y correcto. Muchas gracias
¡Buenísima experiencia! De los mejores servicios que he recibido nunca: un equipo de trabajo muy eficaz y con muy buen ambiente entre ellos. La comida abundante y muy buena. Se nota mucho cariño en todo el local, lo recomiendo 100
