Always a little sceptical when I go to the buffet. I typically find that there is too much msg, overcooked meat. you can't say that at maison wong. the quality of the served was the best notch. I loved the salt and pepper fish, and the bbq pig. when they are in granby, they keep on maison wong.
The place is quite large and as soon as they go in them, they are greeted and shown to their table. I usually take the buffet. several different items that they offer from chicken wings, swashing rings, scattered covered garlands to their own steak or. huh traditional items like, general tao, that is my favorite and very good, as well; ripening reserve, ton won soup, huhn roasted rice and so much more. Whenever something is emptied, it is quickly refilled and in the warm. Many deep Fried foods here, as the selection for veggies is quite limited, but that doesn't bother me as I go back again and again. a surprise for me were the frog legs, delicious! they also have a soda machine that they can refill if they want, and the desserts have everything from cakes and brownies to ice and jello. tipp: go during lunch during the week as it is half price. big tip: go on their birthday as long as they show how they eat is free.
All deep fried, I mean, there were only offers of sweets, everything else is fried. there is even a hot dog station for the children I appreciate) they don't understand me wrong if it is what they want, it is very decent; sweet and fried, but very decent eating. great service! and on the cheap side also; weekday lunch with a design beer under
We are here for a Father's Day dinner. I usually avoid Chinese Buffet restaurants as I am a vegetarian and rarely find non-meat dishes in these places. My husband loves Chinese Buffet and since the day was about him...we went. My daughter (also a vegetarian)...and I were checking out the options when the Maitre'd of the place came by. I asked her which dishes were non meat. She took us through all the choices and then offered to have the cook make a noodle/veggie dish for us. The dish she brought to the table was huge...enough for four people! We couldn't finish it and they gave us a take out container. I was impressed by their offer to make us a special dish. That never happens. I will have to rethink my opinions about Chinese Buffet. I will definitely go back!
