However, it appears they have now gained a reputation for being cooked in oil that has been reused throughout the year. Many of the fries were burnt and inedible, while the remaining ones were small, shredded pieces of potatoes that were dark brown in color.
Mexican fries had 1/3 of gross leftovers from probably 5-6 loads of French fries from previous orders covered up with some of the normal fries. Not cool people, not cool!
Ever since I was a kid we’ve been coming to this stalwart of the Strip’s food scene. Nothing fancy here—but the sitting area is shaded, and the fries are fantastic. Fast service, with washrooms at the back.
I’ve been going to Grand Bend since the 60’s and recall the Cheryl Ann for most of that time. I’m sure in that length of time they’ve changed owners but whatever has happened they’ve kept the same process going. Every time I go to Grand Bend I have fries here. They are outstanding. They are not undercooked but are just perfectly at the edge of being crispy. You don’t even have to ask for them to be cooked that way. Nice shady patio to enjoy the fries.
Service is pretty good here and it's a pretty popular place. Their fries are excellent but the beef patty on the burger is about what you'd get at a McD regular burger so I give that about a C.
