I was greatly disappointed in the garden penne dish. For $11 or so it lacks nearly all flavor and the pasta is overcooked. The waffles for breakfast were relatively good. The breakfast coupon can be bought for $7 the night ahead. Staff were pretty friendly.
Had the two taco special and it was really good. our server was very attentive and kept controlling us.
We had breakfast here since holiday inn didn’t offer continental breakfast. So you can buy a meal voucher for breakfast for $5/adult. The service was great, the coffee was good, but the food was barely edible. The breakfast food was comparable to village inn (pancakes, skillets, burritos) but so badly executed that is was borderline inedible. Super oily, undercooked potatoes etc I really wanted to like the place since due to location super handy, but in the end had to go somewhere for an early brunch since family didn’t eat.
The restaurant at Holiday Inn Grand Junction is average, similar to an Applebee's. It's not exceptional, but not terrible either. I recommend sticking to simple dishes like burgers. The Caesar salad I ordered was disappointing as it didn't match the menu description - it had shredded parmesan cheese instead of shaved parmesan. Additionally, the server failed to provide me with a duplicate receipt, which is basic service etiquette, especially at a hotel catering to business travelers.
