Jake's Diner

Service is poor. Understaffed. Went there during lunch hour today knowing what I wanted to order and I stated this twice to the staff. The waitress who was assigned to my table said ok, she would be right back to take my order but she never did come back. There were only 2 waitresses on the floor and the other waitress was engaged in a lengthy conversation with customers who had already been served and were about to leave, even though there were others before me who were also waiting to place their orders. I used to enjoy going to this Jake’s for breakfast, but now this site seems poorly managed and consistently understaffed. The food is still ok, but the service is terribly lacking. Someone needs to help management understand the importance of good customer service. If you want people to spend money at your restaurant then act like they matter to you

Food it’s great, good quantity. Waiter appeared to be new, but he was very polite and helpful. Our 2nd time here and it haven’t disappointed us.

Called and the lady put me on hold for 20+ mins. I then called back 10+ times with no answer. Customer service really bad.

My husband and I have ate there a few times and the first time we had a waitress who took my debit card and said I'll be right back, I had to go up to counter and get them to get her so we could leave, she said I'm sorry I got busy helping someone. We went back a couple of more times and the service was good because we had different waitresses. Today we went back with a friend and the one who took my debit card was our waitress today, she was slow, and she was supposed to bring 2 to go cups and the check, well we sit there waiting for like 10 to 15 minutes and she hadn't came back, so we went to the counter and ask for her, well she was in the kitchen talking to the kitchen staff, the girl up front who was so nice got her and I made a comment to the nice girl that if I came there again I would get her because the other one was slow. We left a tip on the table and we went outside and she came out and said I don't want your tip and called me the B word and said I was racist. Well there was another couple who were of a different race walking out at the same time and they couldn't believe what she said. So don't go to Jake's Diner on Gate City Boulevard. Need to know the lady that did it was Hispanic.
