Service is terrible. I went to order take out. They told me I couldn't wait at the bar because it was happy hour, even though I ordered a beer while I waited. I had called earlier to check the soups. Not only did they not have what they told me on the phone, but instead of apologizing they argued with me about it. I have no use for this place.
The menu is pretty standard bar fare; burgers, salads, wraps, soup. The salad bar was a joke with soup, lettuce, a few kinds of dressing and mushrooms. It looked like food poising ready to happen. The service was good and the food was priced well. At the end of our visit, I stopped in the ladies room. Had I been in there before we ate, I would not have eaten there. I have not seen such a disgusting bathroom since I don't know when. The floor was filthy to the extent if I wondered if it was part of the floor color or not. A quick test with a wet paper towel quickly cleared up that question. The soap dispenser (the only 1) didn't work, the toilet was filthy (could see crud growing down beneath the rim) even though there was a toilet brush 24 away. The faucet was loose, but worked, and the 1 of the 2 paper towel dispensers looked like it was about to fall off of the wall. Old tape and adhesives from old posters on the walls, and the stall hardware was in such a bad state I wasn't sure any of them worked. My philosophy is that if the public bathroom is such a mess, imagine what the kitchen looks like! On the way out, I discretely mentioned the condition of the bathroom to the female bartender/server, and she commented that she'd be sure to mention it to their cleaner. I don't have any confidence they have a cleaner, and any employees HAVE to had noticed the condition. I won't be going back.
The fried chicken. moment of silence. no, really. YUMMY! It is as good of fried chicken as you will get anywhere, from grocery store to deli to fine dining. It is excellent. Now for the crazy part. 4 pieces and side for $6.49. If only for the fried chicken this place would get five stars. The side that came with the fried chicken was mashed potatoes and gravy. The potatoes had a weird consistency and a off flavor, while the gravy was very, very watery. Side note-We dined at 9pm just as they were starting to switch to dance club, so I am willing to overlook a couple of hiccups. The wife ordered the French Dip, It was huge, the meat was tender, and the Au jus was flavorful, not greasy or watery at all. She was very happy. This brings me to a second moment of silence. please. The beer battered french fries. OH MY GOD!! Excellent. Best Fries ever. They were so GOOD!!! We also ordered the riblets for a appetizer. The sauce was good, the meat was cooked nicely, and it was ok . I probably would try something else on their menu. and now for some more good news. The bill. How many times can you say that? I know, me too. All of this food plus two drinks for $25 bucks. We took home a full container of food. $25 bucks is a great deal.
I have been here many times. Use to go here a lot after roller derby practice on Tuesdays nights where they had Double Bubble night. That was always nice because they're always rotating their taps with craft beers which sometimes all you need is two drinks. I would recommend getting a **** mary here. Spicy or not-spicy it hits the spot on a Sunday Funday. The food here is pretty decent. I usually end up getting cheese curds, but I've always enjoyed their wraps and burgers. Be aware sometimes getting food is pretty slow if there's only one or two people working as I think the bartenders help make some of the food and serve drinks. The staff are super friendly and will usually get decent service.
