Knocked off a star for the tables being too close together knocked another off because they only do QR code menus which I hate. I don't want to have to scroll through a giant menu trying to find what I want.
Sushi is great with some selections that are unique. The cod is usually good, only once was it poor quality. I love the Asian slaw and miso soup.
I'm absolutely shocked this restaurant isn't rated even higher on here...this was the best sushi teriyaki I've had since living in SF and the service was amazing! ? What a treat. Thank you!
Our food was great. We got a chef’s special and a few other rolls to share amongst those of the table. I don’t recall what the chef special was, but it was some types of fish. I wouldn’t have normally ordered, and was glad to have the opportunity to try. Everything was clearly fresh and up. Good quality. Our drinks were also excellent. We ordered from the menu. Our server was great as well. My only complaint is that the ambience is a little cold metal chairs, cement floor. I’m not sure if I’m thinking of the old King Street location or the Hilldale location has remodeled since I’ve been there last but I seem to remember there being big cozy booths. Oh well, it sure won’t prevent me from eating there! Final thought: order the miso soup it is so freaking good here! It is easily the best miso in Madison.
When I got there, my friend was there before me and she came out of the bathroom and said she never had seen dirty one like Muramoto’s before. I had a bad feeling but proceeded to order maki combo. Friends and I had great dinner but in 12 hours later, I started to vomit violently and ended up in an urgent care for IV because I was puking so much and was dehydrated. Zofran helped with nausea. It took 4 days to recover but my gut is still struggling after 10 days. If you like yourself, you should not go to Muramoto. I’m disappointed.
