Microwave heated chicken? This restaurant is a joke. I work nearby for almost 2 years and this is the first and last time I tried this restaurant. Sorry. I hate the food here.
The counter lady was trying to be over smart and continuously interrupted me while we were looking at the menu to order something and forced us to order something quick by saying “it’s a party tray options you are looking at the menu!! “ , as if a customer doesn’t know what they are looking at?!!!such a rude behaviour !! ? maybe she was pretending to be in a super rush even though the whole restaurant was empty!!!!!!! We felt like she was trying to just get rid of us/customers with a fake smile on her face. It was disappointing!!!!! This is not the way any restaurant should treat their customer! The food was also pathetic! It used to be a good place and had good food before Covid but after that it just got worst! We will never visit this place again?!
I have ordered Schezwan fried rice . I think that’s a lot of food colouring and lack of flavours.I have totally ordered twice here . First time was also same , wanted to give it another try before concluding anything.
Some of the best food I’ve eaten in Guelph. Unique and delicious. Huge portions and lots of leftovers. Excellent value.4 stars for service only because it was quite slow, but the server was kind, friendly, and attentive.Vegetarian options: Excellent and varied vegetarian options. Lots to choose from.
Ok, so this is Hakka food. No pork served due to a Halal offering. Hakka is a hybrid of Chinese and Indian food. However, this restaurant has more of an Indian influence. The Chinese component is Northern China cuisine, nothing like true Cantonese Hong Kong cuisine, so don't attempt the comparison. The positives. Rice and noodle portions are huge. Hakka style noodles were tasty and gave you that spicy warmth in your mouth. We upped the flavor by adding our leftover sauce from other dishes. The spicy chili garlic fish is amazing. Lots of fish in the dish and the sauce is flavourful and delicious. Some negatives. As posted in another review, possibly frozen carrots are used with a strange taste. Chicken with stir fry vegetables in black bean sauce in no way tasted like black bean sauce. However, it was ok. Chicken pieces, although plentiful, were chunks versus being sliced nicely. Still very tender and moist, though. The server did not offer water or drinks right up to and after ordering. We had to ask. Also, they could not identify a mystery vegetable in my dish that I enjoyed but could not recognize. Maybe I ate Plantain for the first time? For limited patronage, the food was super slow from the kitchen, definitely fresh made to order, and I might hazard a guess there was one chef on this Tuesday night based on the speed. It's not a huge negative. Decent value to portion and quality. All in, we enjoyed most of the food and will return to try different dishes which smelt and looked great.Unappealing frontage in a drab strip mall. However, the inside is cozy and clean with a limited number of tables, so the weekend might be a challenge to get seated. We enjoyed the Indian music in the background as we dined.Keep an open mind that you are not dining on traditional Chinese, and you should expect more Indian spice in the food. It's not over the top, though.
