The bread here is superb and just like the Burgh. Our server John took care of our every need, checking in from time to time and was covering most of the room solo. Bravo to him and the manager that spoke to us.
We were traveling through after a college visit and being huge Primanti fans, we had to stop in and get our favorite sandwiches before heading back to NC. We were seated immediately and hoping to get a quick meal before getting back on the road, we greeted immediately by our server. We knew what we wanted, so we placed our order for our drinks and sandwiches. Then the wait began. Our server came by our table and refilled our drinks several times and kept telling us that our food should be up soon. Time ticked by and we were getting impatient as we watched tables around us who came in long after us get their food. Finally, after 45 minutes, another server came by and said that he was supposed to be training our server and didn’t realize that he had not put our order through, so they would bring it out soon. Fast forward another 20 minutes and our food finally came out. Our server apologized and said that he would make an adjustment to our bill since we waited for over an hour. Our sandwiches were good, but they only put a very small amount of fries on, not like what we get at the Pittsburgh locations. After we finished eating, he dropped off our bill and disappeared. There was no adjustment on the bill, all full price. My very tired and frustrated husband went to find him to ask him about it. After some discussion, he took of the price of one sandwich. Not sure if we will stop in this location again when we are in town. It’s not the same as the Pittsburgh Primantis.
To go the salad with grilled chicken. that was so salty that I couldn't eat it. the salate was not fresh. I couldn't eat it either.
During our holiday near a resort, we decided to try Primanti Bros in Hagerstown. Let me start by saying that the food was good. However, our experience was marred by the complete lack of service and professionalism from the restaurant staff. It seemed like our server was just there for the extra money and not because he cared about providing good service. He didn't know how to remove items from the food and when we asked for help, all he said was that he wasn't sure how to ring them in the computer. I found it frustrating to watch him sitting at a table with his friends playing trivia instead of paying attention to customers. Even though I paid the bill and left a 20% tip, we won't be back. Our favorite RV resort is just 15 minutes away, and we visit it every summer instead.
The staff appears to be understaffed and distracted, even with the restaurant at half capacity. They were unable to recall the names associated with my takeout order, despite asking me multiple times over a 20-minute period. It seems like my order may have been given to someone else who left with it. After waiting for 20 minutes inside the restaurant, surrounded by a few masked customers waiting to be seated (while others at the bar were not wearing masks), I ultimately left without receiving my order.
