Had breakfast at sammies with the wife. Food as always was very good. The big downside was the background music. It was the most depressing piece of music and they only had one tune which was on a loop. I wasn’t depressed when I went it but was by the time I left.
This is a busy cafe upstairs in the huge Sam Turner’s cafe farm shop. There is a very good array of hot and cold food. We opted for a caramel shortbread and peppermint slice. Both delicious.
The staff are lovely here and they were very welcoming. The choice of food is amazing. I chose the ploughman’s lunch with ham and it wasn’t my best ever decision. There was some tasty cheese, ham, coleslaw and pickled onions with some pickle. There was also a thin and flaccid slice of bread. Most of the other food was green leaves and peppers. There just wasn’t much substance for the price. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her sausage beans and chips.
The whole place was a mess. Toilets disgusting, server walking around wiping tables with a cloth smelling strongly of bleach. No scrambled egg they said, no eggs yet trays of eggs sitting on work top in kitchen. Food burnt so could no eat it, showed it to server who shrugged her shoulders. As we left we complained to a man on the checkout and he said they were short staffed. No intention of going again.
