The dining room is modestly furnished with a small kitchen in the corner where the steak is grilled. There are no bread, appetizers, or desserts on the menu, just delicious meat cuts that rival any other steakhouse in the city. Popeseye, which is the Scottish name for rump steak, serves Highland beef that is 100% grass-fed and of exceptional quality. The steaks are not only good, they are outstanding, cooked perfectly and served in generous portions. The menu offers three cuts of steak - rump, sirloin, and fillet - ranging in size from 6oz to a whopping 30oz. If you visit Popeseye, it's clear that steak is the main attraction and you won't leave hungry, especially if you opt for the 2lb steak. The quality and taste of the meat at Popeseye is truly exceptional, making it a must-visit for steak lovers.
A simple menu concentrates only on steak and chips, but they can choose between all popular cuts and in a variety of sizes. the steak was perfectly cooked and the service was welcoming and friendly. I recommend this place to everyone in the opposite.
If possible I would give this place 6 stars. the staff was very relaxed, friendly and welcoming. the steak was so good that we came back a second time during our 4-day trip. everything we ordered was impeccable. we would both recommend a steak dinner here. well done to please my friend, who is a very picky eater.
The meat is the star of the show at this place, but it would have been nice to have homemade chips instead of the pre-made, frozen variety. Overall, it was a bit lacking in attention to detail.
The steak, chips, salad, and red wine at this restaurant are a simple formula that just works. If you like the sound of this dish, then you won't find anything much better than the Popeseye in Kensington. Just thinking about this place makes my mouth water even after just having lunch. The dining room is minimally decorated, with a small kitchen in the corner where the steak is prepared. There are no bread, appetizers, or desserts beyond the chips and salad. It's just simple, high-quality meat cuts that give other steakhouses in the city a run for their money. Popeseye is actually the Scottish name for rump steak, which makes sense since the beef comes from the highlands and is 100% grass-fed, allowing you to taste the quality.
