Whew! Real good. I don’t know what’s going on but Kaua’i has really good Mexican food! Ordered the two taco plate with rice and beans. Rice and beans were very very good. You could taste the depth of flavour in the broths that were the foundation of the two side dishes. I asked whether to go with the carne asada or the chicken and was told the carne asada. I also asked about whether to choose the fish or the shrimp and was told the fish. Carne asada and the fish (mahi mahi) was so tasty. They also have incredible hot sauces. Eat this food.
Service A+ ...food C- (cant eat or enjoy it) salty. When I say we could not taste anything but salt. That was all... We went back. They remade it Everyone was kind. Still. Could not even taste onion. Or tomato or the shrimp. We got shrimp plate. Extra shrimp. Also shrimp taco salad. They were out of my first choice. ..
Great food and great experience!! At first we were hesitant but it was definitely a diamond in the rough and we are happy we stopped and tried it. Don’t knock it until you try it! : :
Tacos are $6 each and veggies burrito is $16. For what we got, it is very expensive, both by the quality of the food and quantity quality of the service. I wouldn’t recommend. They don’t even have salsa or sauces on the side let alone chips as complimentary.
