Jason's Deli - Harvey

I was so excited when a Jason's Deli opened here a little over a year ago. Unfortunately, it's currently temporarily closed due to Covid. I hope it reopens soon because I sure do miss this place! The salad bar is amazing and never disappoints. My favor thing to order is the manger's special which is a trip to the salad bar and a 1/2 sandwich. My go to sandwich is the California Club. Everything is always so fresh and I consider Jason's Deli a healthy option when eating out. And guess what?!?!? They have free ice cream which my kids love. Last but not least, the chocolate mousse on the salad bar is always a treat that any chocolate lover would find delightful.

I love Jason's Deli, but I have been very, very, very disappointed with my last few visits at this location. A few months ago, we waited at least well over 15 minutes to be delivered our 2 small sandwiches and they were not busy. It made us have to rush our meal, so we could catch the movie, we had tickets for. I usually order turkey based sandwiches, but on another visit, I tried to venture out and try one with roast beef. The meat was very dry and I had to go and ask for au jus that was listed in the sandwich description. On one visit they had no BBQ chips. My latest visit, no one greeted me at the desk (this has happened also on another occasion) no hello but there were about 3 workers behind the counter. A male worker was standing kinda behind the cash register, but to the side and closer to the back wall. He was busy, looking at his phone, although I'm sure he was aware of my presence. No one made a comment that they couldn't take my order again no hello or acknowledgement whatsoever. I stand there what seems to be at least two minutes, waiting for anyone to acknowledge me and a man quickly walks up and apologizes and takes my order. As I walk to salad bar, there were 2 other customers making salads. They seemed to be looking for other ingredients , as I ended up doing, as well. I motioned to the manager? that the salad container that the lettuce I wanted was nearly out. I really think he wanted me to take what was at the bottom of the container the pieces were not chopped as nicely, as I've seen it i the past, and there was a lot of water on the little bit that was left. Another woman joins me at the salad barr, and also comments that they have a have a lot of stuff missing. When I make comment to manager? about ranch dressing being out, he was quick to point to another container, saying there was indeed more ranch dressing but was on opposite side.. I took the last few green olives. There were no cucumbers, and no tomatos, and I took the last of the very few croutons. There was no fruit salad and all of the apples were brown and looked disgusting. The white shredded cheese was out, and they had 3 hard boiled eggs. It was 7:30p. Being I was only getting a salad to go, I was disappointed to not have more croutons and more veggies. No one appeared to be working the salad bar. So my latest visit was a really maybe 1 2 stars, but i want to see this business last and succeed in Harvey. I've been wanting a nice salad bar, so badly, and I'm very happy to have Jason's Deli in the area now. (This review, I wrote prior to pandemic submitting late).

Beware.. when i saw the roaches on wood wall between dining area and where the make ur food) after I ordered I should have just walked out.. now after being on the toilet I had to write something.. fyi if u di decide to eat there dont get the brisket.. and why the employees hanging outside on side of building

Great food and variety, but I do think it's a bit pricey for the portion size. A half sandwich and side salad ran me almost $15

This is the most Awesome eatery !!!!! The Food is SOOOOOO GOOD, The Atmosphere is Very Pleasant, The prices are Very Fair and Affordable. The Staff are So helpful and curteous, and have the most Pleasant Attitudes you wish for in these times. And Management on site are Just as Great. We LOVE JASON'S DELI
