Immediately disappointed to arrive and find the pool was closed for an hour as the chemical balance was unsafe. We thought we could at least use the sauna and steam room, only to find that the steam room was out of order (incredibly disappointing). Once the pool was ready, it was a Luke warm jacuzzi area which isn’t pleasant for anyone. Overall the place felt tired and run down. Food 2 stars. We opted for a lunch over afternoon tea. It took around 40 minutes to arrive, we were ravenous. I went for the burger which for an £18 usual cost was a let down. Overcooked and dry. This theme continued with my wife’s charcuterie board cold meats with dry bread, a beige offering with no hint of a sauce (humus or something similar would have gone a long way). Overall we both felt underwhelmed. Whilst we did end on a very high note of the massage which was just amazing. The rest of the day really let us down.
Beautiful setting and lovely hotel room. Unfortunately we have had a very poor service since, however. We were woken up at 3.30am and then again at 6.30am by music from the restaurant which had been left on all night. When we raised this with the management the next day, we were promised a complimentary night's stay to use in the future but sadly we never received details of this and, despite contacting the hotel numerous times, we have found it incredibly difficult to speak to anyone, and no one has responded to our emails. Really disappointing service.
Had the most amazing gluten free afternoon tea as part of a spa package at Lythe Hill hotel you would need to book in advance, was so impressed with the choice of scones (larger than the normal ones! and cakes, sandwiches were out of this world too! Highly recommend!
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone at Lythe Hill. We got married at Lythe Hill in June 2023 and from start to finish they couldn’t have been more helpful throughout, what can be, a very stressful process. Natalya was on hand the whole way through to help me with my plans and create the most perfect day for myself and husband. The day was so well organised and the guests were full of compliments about how beautiful Lythe Hill is and how lovely the staff were. I went for a BBQ for our wedding breakfast and the food was incredible! Fresh, beautifully presented and just delicious! The rooms are clean and beds were very comfortable!! I want to say a huge thank you to Natalya Ro for their continuous support and coordination to make my day as special as it was!! We look forward to coming back for our 1st year anniversary
Definitely not a Spa Day worth £155. The pool was cold and dirty (including the pool side, nothing looked cleaned) the hot tub was cold, the changing rooms were dirty (piles of towels everywhere, puddles of water all over the floor). The sauna had screws sticking out and i felt i was going to fall through the timber, it looked so worn. The steam room was out of order. The massage was great, but everything else let the experience down. I don’t understand how this experience was £155. I thought Spa days were meant to be relaxing, but I felt like I was at my local leisure centre. Groups of people chatting loudly by and in the pool, swimming lessons being conducted and toddlers running around the cold hot tub. Made it very uncomfortable to sit there. Emailed the spa team since returning twice and received no replies. Feel completely cheated. £155 for something not even worth £40 on groupon
