Takara japanese dining - Haymarket

A colleague and I had dinner here.We ordered a bento box, tonkotsu and kaarange chicken with green tea.The serving sizes are reasonable and the price is good. Everything tasted very fresh. The service was good with our order being taken quickly and food brought to the table within 15 minutes.The atmosphere is nice and quiet so it is easy to talk.The only negative was my tea cup had lipstick on it and needed to be swapped. The staff were very apologetic about this mistake.

I had the worst dining experience ever in this restaurant. The owners(Chinese couple) don't respect customers and even insulted me.Firstly, the food was over-priced and the taste was not good. I was expecting more amount of food from a $10 bento but it's seriously small and teriyaki chicken I had was almost like meatless bones.I was insulted by them for asking for a double check on my bill and the Chinese woman said to me 'You don't have money', 'I feel sorry & shame for you' etc in a condescending tone, even though I had enough money and was asking for a fair amount of charge on my dish. I'm sure it could've been dealt in a much better way if they had been more self-aware of their bad customer service.I'm seriously upset about the way they treated me and I think they don't even deserve 'one star' on this review.Never go to this restaurant if you want there to be an owner who actually cares about her customers!

Found this japanese casual dining restaurant nearest the Novotel Sydney Central Hotel. Family chose different items to check out this restaurant. Solo serving staff is a japanese young lady. Servings are sizeable for their price. Tonkatsu bento cha shu ramen unagi don and ginger pork are tasty though the ginger pork was more dslty than I preferred. The saltiness probably from ingredients like preserved black beans. Sashimi salad had 4 types of fresh seafood of sizeable slices. Average A$15 per dish.

Food tasted good. The table setting is very neat and nice. The food is cheap compared to other japanese restaurant. Recommended :)
