Lowenbrau - Heidelberg

In these difficult times for small businesses, I don't write a negative review considering the impact it may have on the business. Unfortunately this will be an exception and I have to do it straight after we have come back after a terrible lunch. The...Holzfaellersteak which I order was extremely salty and I had to immediately notify the waitress. She took the plate to the kitchen and on her way back tasted it from my plate.. couple of minutes back she came up with the same portion of steak without the sauce and she tried to justify it that for us this is not salty.. as it is with bacon.. the sauce this time she bought separately was still really salty and when we pointed it out... she conveniently ignored. I could barely finish my steak without any onions/bacon/sauce/potatoes despite being hungry. My wife on the other hand ordered Rumpsteak and she requested baked potato with sour cream instead of fried potatoes. The Rumpsteak itself was miniature in size. We requested the bill and I mentioned to the waitress again regarding the salty food I was served and this feedback should go to the cook, the waitress remained unapologetic. The bill was charged in full (attached), the baked potato with sour cream was charged Euro extra. When inquired about this we were told that Euro was deducted from it as the cost of potato fries and it's actual cost is Euro!! My wife when requested was told it will be some additional charges but she didn't asked by how much.. her fault!! Overall this place takes tourists for granted as most won't bother to report such incidents. Fortunately we are local here in Heidelberg, and I will make sure that this message gets across in my vast network.

Substandard service and mediocre food. you’ll find better in the neighbourhood. I would not recommend.

Good food. Good prices. We always hit up Lowenbrau on our family trips because the food is consistent and there is always something that everyone likes on the menu.

The main courses were very tasty. We tried different dishes and everything was awesome! The service was very good and the prices were normal (apr Don't forget to try their beer!

Great beer and sausage. Rostbratwurste was out standing. Seated at the bar. Great service and friendly staff. Nice place.
