Food is good and quite large portions. Definitiver place where you can watch some games is a lot of TV everywhere. It can be quite loud as the place is attached to the casino with no wall to separate from it. Mural art on the walls is beautiful! Plus, did I mention that this place dog is friendly!? Love it. Get back!
On arrival we felt neglected. There was a huge party. The tables were released, so we waited. After all, our waiter reached us. Drinks were badly made. Food arrived looked fantastic. It didn't taste as good as you would think of this restaurant. Steak in Tacos did not taste like steak, waiters guess that steak meat was precooked. No big deal here.
Stop number 1 on the Fingerlicking Foodie Tour and it?s average, best. As Mexicans and San Antonio, my expectations were high. That's not hit. The service was friendly, the chips were nice because they were warm and the flaute was not dry. These are the highlights. The menu does not bite shrimp tacos. They were NOT Tacos. This was a bite of shrimp in a cold corn tortilla. I can't say anymore because it was literally a bite. Like I said, the frost was not dry, but that? We paid each for a tour and they brought a filled Poblano. It should have been two because two were paid. It was crispy, but fat and zero taste. We had to ask for salt. This is not a good place to dare not to have salt on their tables. In the end, I didn't say a cilantro. Every single thing had Zilantro. Since I mentioned them already and the need was not fulfilled, I just picked what I could. Maybe they have more effort if you? not part of this tour. Good luck.
Wow. Great service, and we liked the sublime Mexican theme throughout. The menu is not large, which in this case makes sense because the food is sensational. We started with some appetizers, the corn was amazing, the quesadillas and the taquitos were as well. I had the shrimp tacos with the crunchy corn shells, and they didn?t even need any toppings. Everyone enjoyed their meals immensely. Mexican food is hard to pass as fine dining but also being hearty and a good value, but at Borracha they?ve straddled that line perfectly. Well done.
This restaurant is a large hole in the wall type of space at the same time keeps elegance. The ambience is lively and tv monitors put on sport while eating and conversing with the family. I suggest the Carnitas that comes with their green salsa and rice/beans/tortillas. The corn is good to share. Also the Asada burgers are delicious and another good to share family style. The service is excellent and waiting times do not have to happen if you reserve before time. A nice cold beer or a shot of Tequila doesn't hurt.
