Imaginative yet delicious variety of Mac cheese. Huge burgers. Delicious fish fry. Vegetarian friendly options. Kid friendly. Wish I found this place sooner!!
A little old fashioned but it's convenient and a good value. Very easy check in/out and a nice selection of local bagels for breakfast. The heat was off in my room, it was maybe 45° inside when I arrived. It was cozy once I adjusted the three separate ambiguous thermostats in the room, it was unclear which one was relevant.
I can't give enough stars to this place, so just let me say, it's a brewpub with their own hand crafted small batch beer and delicious food within 5 minutes of the base at Windham. Dog friendly not just dog tolerant, but dog lovers. Beautiful historic lodging. Run by the nicest people you can imagine. Really, what more could you want?
I stayed overnight two nights here and the first thing I noticed when I got into bed is the sheets are absolutely filthy. Crumbs everywhere in bed. Also the hand soap in the bathroom was filled with water instead of soap which is such a cheap move. It’s dog friendly but there is only one trash can outside in the front. There’s not a big fenced in area for dogs outside, just a very tiny part of the lot. Also, they put us directly next to big dogs in a huge vacant hotel who were barking so loud. The walls are paper thin! There was also NO AIR CONDITIONING in the summer!! We had to specifically call and ask to be moved to a room with an air conditioner! Also there is no one at the desk EVER. The only good thing about this place was it’s cute character, and the fact that they welcome dogs.
This place is lovely. Charming, cozy, clean. It has comfy beds and pleasant workers and stayers. A great pool table in the lounge room to the side. But there is a strong scent that hits you in the face when you walk-in. The smell also lingered in our room (rm#18) which my partner felt was our bathroom. We kept our windows opened the entire time as a way to fumigate the smell. Our friends who stayed in another room did not have any smells. Not sure if it's the cleaning products they use or just bad, old pipes. The walls are very thin. Could almost make out peoples conversations in the room next door, and hear all the movement above. Since this is a pet friendly lodge there was a dog staying above us. Poor thing paced back and forth all night.. and poor us because we couldn't get much sleep. Why would you allow someone with a pet to stay on the top floor and not the other way around??
