Shah's Halal Food - Hicksville

The service at this restaurant is very poor and cheap. There are plenty of other places that offer much better service than this one. The staff here does not meet the standards of quality service. It seems like the owner is not aware of the complaints about the team, many of whom are inexperienced and unprofessional. I would not recommend coming back to Hicksville Shah until they make some changes, including firing the current team.

Asked for a gyro with the pita bread on the side. Charged me for a chicken over rice (without the rice) and then charged me $2 extra for a pita bread. All the other shah locations understand what I ask for. Try to explain just became to much.

They need to learn how to talk to customers on the phone. I called to ask if they were open because we are traveling from a different neighborhood and it would take some time to get there. The person picked up rudely saying "If I pick up the phone I 'm open and what time do you want me to close? Wantagh location is wayyy more professional and nicer.

Update: I used to love this place. They had and still have really good food. The new staff do not acknowledge your order receipt! I was like, do you have fish gyros? She walked in and started working on it. I had no idea if she heard me is going to work on it if they don?t have it ???? It was a similar experience the last time we came in too. (a few days before Christmas Really sad! Good food, Minus 3 for bad service! ??????????????????????? My absolute favorite Halal food place. I've tried Halal guys as well and prefer Shah's any day. We usually get the chicken over rice or lamb gyro but my new favorite is the fish over rice and I make it a point to add lots of their green sauce. They're very generous with their sauces and unlike some other place that hesitate to give sauces to go, they don't do that. You get everything you need! ;

The food at this restaurant was delicious, but I wish there was a rice option available without onions. The quality of service varies depending on how busy it is. When there is a long line, they tend to rush and give you less food in your container. We always opt for the extra protein option.
