We didn 't spend the night, but were booked in for an early dinner after walking up on the 'road to the isles ' from Rannoch Station. We arrived just as both the weather and the midges started to close in, so we decided not to explore the area further and spent the remainder of the afternoon in the Station House, enjoying tea and cake then a pre dinner drink before our meal. There was a selection of books and games, and the place was busy all afternoon, then full at dinnertime definitely book if you plan to eat on a Saturday in summer! The food was delicious, we shared a great charcuterie board, then both had the venison stew, which was perfect comfort food. It 's worth noting that there are goods for sale, from souvenirs to useful camping equipment, including midge nets. Even for the two minutes we stood on the platform waiting for the train a midge net was pretty much essential. A really relaxed atmosphere with great food in a beautiful setting, fantastic all round.
What a fantastic place to visit! I first discovered Corrour through a YouTube video titled 'All the Stations.' I stayed for one night, and the cooked breakfast was absolutely outstanding. The location offers a perfect escape, ensuring peace and tranquility. The only downside was the wind, rain, and the pesky midges, which kept me from venturing too far.
I dined at the restaurant and it was fantastic! I had a venison steak sandwich and a glass of Malbec. I’m amazed at how they can have such an excellent restaurant in the middle of nowhere!
The service was not only friendly and pleasant, but it was also quick! The bartender shared some interesting history about the place. We had to wait several hours for our train, but it wasn't a problem at all. We even got to dry our boots and socks by the fire. The scenery is beautiful—it’s a delight to dine with such a view. We enjoyed a bean burger with chips, which was quite tasty. Overall, it's a wonderful spot to relax for a little while!
