Mare - Hochdorf

Mare is a nice restaurant with nice and friendly staff. I order bbq pork spare ribs that day but unfortunately for me the quality of the meat was very very bad, never again!!! My wifes and my friends food was much better

Fairly large open plan restaurant, compartmentalized into a general restaurant and a smoking bar/restaurant section. Both are fair sized. We dined in the non smoking restaurant section and were presented with complimentary grilled crusty bread served on a skewer. For appetizers we had a large portion of an excellent Nüsslisalat with plenty of eggs and good French sauce. For mains, the Penang curry with poulet strips and jasmine rice consisted of good tender meat and heavy thai/lemongrass flavors but was a bit too salty, the Chicken Cordon Bleu served with fries and seasonal vegetables was tasty but a bit dry, both portions were very large. Overall: good friendly service, busy youthful ambience, good food with potential, good hum but not overly loud. Parking can become very busy and we were actually boxed in by a car when we tried to leave but it was quickly resolved. Our preferred rating would be: 3.5 good

Always very good food! Good portions, for a good price the restaurant is specially designed!

Great lunch menus, tasty at a good price, there are also seconds and very friendly service

The waitress even less friendly than the barn door which creaks all the way when it opens! We waited 15 pounds for the food. Les is good but not crazy. Otherwise the decor is not bad but a little busy.
