Our friends treated us to an incredible dining experience at this restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere were excellent and we will definitely be returning. We enjoyed all of the dishes we shared, including the Spanish octopus, Venison Tartare, Roasted Beets with Goat Cheese, and Charred Caesar salad. For our main course, we tried the Pork Rib Chop, which was surprisingly delicious even though I am not usually a fan of pork. We are already looking forward to our next meal at this restaurant!
Upon arrival, we were impressed with the atmosphere of the restaurant. We were greeted promptly by the hostess and seated at a nice spot by the front window. I ordered an old fashioned and my wife had a mezcal elderflower Spritz, both of which were very good. We started with a couple of small plates, including soft ripened cheese with artisan bread and a fruity tomato spread, which we enjoyed. However, the roasted peach with whipped ricotta on bread was decent but nothing special. For our main dishes, my wife ordered the pork chop with cauliflower purée and barley apple medley, which she found superb. I requested a medium-rare Ribeye but was disappointed to receive a steak that was not cooked to my liking. After requesting a replacement, I was still not satisfied with the second steak, which was also not cooked to medium-rare as requested. Despite the steak mishap, the hostess/manager did stop by to address the issue, although it felt more focused on whether or not I would be compensated for the meal rather than genuinely interested in my dining experience. We opted not to try dessert at Native and received the check from a slightly disengaged server. Despite the issues with the steak and lackluster service towards the end of the meal, we paid the full bill with a generous tip. Overall, while the food and atmosphere at Native were promising, the experience fell short of our expectations for a $150 meal. We hope that the team at Native will pay closer attention to the details of food service and be more accountable when things go awry. Despite this disappointing experience, I am willing to give Native another chance in the future and explore other items on their menu. Good luck to the Native team on their journey to becoming a great restaurant.
At first, I resisted going to this restaurant. But at the insistence of a friend, we decided to give it a try. I felt that it was too expensive and I'm not into small plates. Boy, was I wrong. If you don't order small plates, the portions are very satisfying. It is on the pricey side, but it is a wonderful experience. I will definitely go back again. In fact, I can't wait to go back again. The atmosphere is fantastic and the wait staff are very friendly and helpful. I loved it and will definitely be a repeat customer. Great job, Native!!!
We had a lovely dinner when staying nearby The Lodge at Woodloch spa. Food was beautifully presented. I especially loved the spicy mango marg and peach goat cheese bread. Upstairs seating doesn’t have the same ambience. Would definitely return.
