There is a mandatory 20% service charge for all parties, no matter the size, as we were just two people. Want to sit by the window or on the deck, that will be an additional $5 per person. The restaurant does notify you in advance and it is on their website. I do not mind providing a tip of 20% as the service was excellent. However, I don’t like it being automatic. In addition, the restaurant says the 20% service charge is to provide their servers a living wage. I believe the RESTAURANT OWNERS need to provide a living wage; it is NOT the responsibility of the patrons! The receipt says they pay the servers $18-$23 an hour, so what’s up with the 20% charge? Will have to think about returning after 20% and window deck up charges are removed.
