I've been driving by so many times and so glad we wanted to stop. the garden area on a sunny warm afternoon is fantastic. eating is great and they have a good choice of beer and weep. it was a bit warm for some of the bigger hit dishes, so I had the chicken ceasar salat and my wife the orzo pasta, both were very tasteful. the garden has a small house for children to play, full sun or shaded tables on the terrace or in the garden and a small wild flower area that leads to the meadow behind. we will definitely return.
Beautiful dogs friendly pub where they can get great food!
This place is a small piece of heaven! if I could give it more than five stars, I would. beautiful pub with a magical garden, on wild flowers lined fields. we had dinner, and eating was exceptionally kreatiw. we loved the desserts. service was very warm and we felt very welcome. we need to find an excuse to go back!
Had a meal last night with family. I'd been told good things about this pub, though I feel they were holding back, maybe to keep it to themselves! This pub was probably one of the best pubs I've eaten at for a long time. Food was fresh, well prepared, served by great staff in a great setting. I highly recommend The Crabtree for any occasion. A+
Enjoyed our food. However the salmon starter was way too small and overpriced at £8.50. Unfortunately due to inexperienced staff we were not advised about the Sussex Lunch offer. We was told that our bill would be adjusted but it wasn't so had to chase them again. With one of our meals we asked for chips instead of new potatoes and was charged extra for them never been charged before) So overcharged! It was mildly annoying that lunch did not run smoothly.
