Garlauch chicken off lunch menu was excellent! great value! that was absolutely delicious! it had basilikum, garlic and wobble and was delicious! dish came with 2 spring rolls and tears!
I had the lunch special pad thai. It was good. my question is that the piece size for the price was small. also for a portion lunch it was small. the court came with a pot made of pad thai, pots made of fried rice, spring roll, cheese roll and sweet and acidic diving sauce. the lunch special was $9.50 the waiter was attentive. the atmosphere is okay. it is an old converted house, but the decor is beautiful. it has an old house smell, but it's not terrible. my question is usually the price not with the part or what other restaurants calculate for lunch specialties.
It is a small, picturesque, relaxed atmosphere that I enjoyed very much. the Thai cuisine was really delicious. I had the chee, the red snapper and garnel in a spicy red curry sauce with steamed vegetables and jasmine. my fiancée had the basilikum huhn and it was bombbbbb. the aromen and the sauce. there was no need for salt pepper or seasoned. will definitely return.
I used to come here years ago before another great Thai place opened on Richmond between Fountainview and Gessner, but since that one has recently closed, I thought I'd give Thai Pepper another try. Sigh. I really wanted to like it as this was our go-to Thai restaurant so many years ago, but I can't give it any more than 2 stars today because the quality is just not there. We started with the papaya salad, which was tasty, but heavily overloaded with peanuts, to the point that they overpowered the dish. Next came the veggie green curry, which was far too much coconut cream and far too little green curry in the mix. I can honestly say that I've never had a green curry that was this bland. On top of that, the veggies were not fresh! The cauliflower had black spots on top (see picture) and the carrots were black on the ends! Yuk! Our other entree was the Bangkok Chicken Noodle, which was overly sweet and not very fresh either. Sadly, I can't say that we will be eating here again unless things change. To the chef, if you read this, please, please, please up your game. You have a unique opportunity to draw customers in now that the place on Richmond is closed. Step up and deliver and you will find that people will notice!
