Beautiful quaint little cafe/bar with friendly staff, comfortable seating and absolutely delicious food! Thankyou for letting me read for as long as I did after my meal !

Good breakfast location. Very good service and staff. It's commendable that a business has sacrificed retail space to have a massive ramp in place.

Wow... unnexpected little gem Best eggs benedict I've ever had, the eggs were so fresh perfectly cooked, the smoked salmon was thick fresh great atmosphere A1 quality meals absolutely would go back to Inverell just to go to The General Merchants again

Wow! I didn't expect this quality of service in a country town. The food quality and taste is of a very high standard. I would like to congratulate owner Mark McNeil for managing such a great place to dine. I wish there was more establishment like this one on my travels. I'll definitely will be back for more!

We are here at the general merchant, enjoying a wine and listening to the Steely Dan record, yes record playing! A retro decor, welcoming, LOVELY staff, and a reasonably sophisticated ambience to the establishment. We are really looking forward to dinner, which we will eat in the outdoor area.
