If you take the time to get to know him a bit you will be better off for it. Plus his store has great variety and he is there daily and always with a smile! His store was open when nothing else in the Sheraton was. So nice to be able to get snacks drinks for the room. He was so sweet to my 2 year old niece. He gave her an alabaster turtle and elephant and only for a hug in return! If Kindness makes the world go around he is doing his part for sure! Thank you Nadin!!!!
$10 for a ton of rice despite asking him to stop piling it on. No thanks. I used to like to get the lunch special sometimes, but he lost a customer today. It is a convenience store, not a restaurant after all.
I paid $2.68 (tax included) for a pack of Eclipse gum. At Kroger, they're $1.19 (regular price before tax on sale they're one dollar). This is a convenience store, but over 100% mark up is extreme in any case.
Like the Reviewer Anna I am focussing my review on the Pakistani food that this store serves Tuesday through Friday at lunchtime. This is a clean, neat very safe feeling convenience store with fairly reasonable prices and a nice selection. The Pakistani food is a definite 5 star for a convenience store and would be a 4+ star in its own right. The proprietor Nadeem is very friendly and keeps the store neat and clean. The Pakistani food he serves is delicious. It's very spicy, warm and rich in flavor. The samosas are outstanding and the Tandoori style chicken and sides are rich in flavor. The food is very fresh for a convenience store environment. Food is served to go, but there are tables down the hall and outside. Definitely give this place a try. The Pakistani food is served 11 am to 2 pm Tuesday through Friday.
DISCLAIMER: This review is for Tandoori Xpress, which is a pop-up Pakistani food takeout restaurant that is located within this convenience store. No opinions regarding the convenience store's offerings are expressed. I was so excited to read this CU article about delicious Pakistani food being available at a convenience store near me I went as soon as I could, and honestly, so should you! If you love Tandoori Grill on Bethel or haven't been there because it's too far away, this is the perfect opportunity to try its food during the lunch hour. Ideally, this would be a 3.5 star review, but I'm rounding it up because of the convenience factor. During my visit, I tried the samosa, chickpea curry, rice, and chicken seekh kebab. The seekh kebab was the star; perfectly spiced and amazingly tender. I've had so many disappointingly dry seekh kebabs, but this was was pure perfection. Next time, I'm just getting this with rice. The chickpeas and rice were good too. Loved the samosa, though it could be a tad less oily. But, heck, I chose to have fried food. My meal also came with a side salad with an Italian vinaigrette odd choice . The salad is typically also served in the brick and mortar location and serves as a nice palate cleanser there. But since the operation in the convenience store is takeout only, getting a dressed salad, which is limp by the time I eat it, doesn't quite make sense to me. My meal cost $12, and I would've gladly paid a little less to forego the salad. Overall, a nice addition to the downtown lunch scene, which sadly lacks good Indian food. Don't get me started on Indian Oven. Just no.
