Not always my fault but because with the best intentions, it was often closed or sold out! But this morning they were open to business and I had the opportunity to taste their famous Hakka Mee. The dish came in three separate bowls with a fried tofu wrapper with taro and water chestnut, then another bowl with soup filled tofu, meat balls and fish balls and finally, the main bowl of noodles with a generous amount of roasted minced meat above. Once you add a sip or two soup and mix the noodles, it makes for an incredibly delicious dish, with very tasteful minced meat and al dente noodles. The accompanying meatballs and tofu were also very tasty, especially when in their homemade chilli sauce for a well balanced meal. Not to overlook, but her Kopi was also very delicious. It was rich and tasteful. All COVID protocols and best practices were strictly observed by all. A great breakfast. Remember to show up early to avoid disappointment as they sell out ALWAYS!
This corner Coffee Shop is located at the intersection of Hugh Low Street Osborne Road. If you long for Hakka noodles for breakfast, this is the last destination. The noodles are boiled al dente and the minced meat is perfectly marinated and well mixed. The tofu and fish meat balls as side orders make a very satisfying meal. There are a number of stands with good Hakka noodles in Ipoh as near Cathay Restaurant (Osborne Road), and from the city center Seong Kee Hakka Mee Restaurant (Kampar Road), Hakka Restaurant (Jln. Pasir Puteh) , Hakka Restaurant (Lebuh Taman Ipoh), Hakka mee Stall Taman Timur Restaurant (In. They would also be happy with the good coffee drinks served here.
Fantastic Hakka mee.... Very friendly owner and staff.... Very recommended....
The hakka noodles are really good, but the 'yong tau foo' is just so expensive for Malaysian standard, but if you are a foreigner, the exchange rate conversion will make it inexpensive yet worth a trip for the noodles. The sauce makes the difference
No fuss and oh so fragrant QQ Hakka Mee, a side soup with pieces of yong tau foo and another side bowl of fried yong tau foo. Coupled with a coffee mixed with condensed, splash of evaporated milk and this is the breakfast for hearty champions. The proprietor is friendly too.
