This restaurant was amazing! The service was excellent! The food was on point and the atmosphere was very cozy and pleasing. This is one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in the entire county. This is a hidden gem and I would highly recommend this place. Make sure you get a reservation.
This is our all around fave, even more than SF, partly because there are so many other menu options in SF. We had some of the freshest oysters ever and I can’t go there and forego the brandied cherry crepe although we order small since we also have creme brûlée as a rule. It is also impossible for me to pass on the salad upgrade. This night we also tried the watermelon tomato gazpacho which was tasty, albeit a tad sweet for my palate. Even the iced tea was spot on, refreshing and bracing. This visit there was a delicious sounding fish special but we chose to two-way the 8 oz filet. It was impeccably rare, fork tender with crispy bacon. It is no small feet to bring that combo into the station, particularly in a packed house. Service is always perfection, lucky us.
We compare all restaurants to this gem. It was our date night spot the 6 months we were in Albuquerque. We have been here several times and the food and service was consistently phenomenal. Highly recommend reserving the lobster tail too!!
What was ordered; Escargot, Special: Oysters on a half shell, Henry IV, Ribeye Tip: There is free 2 hr parking in front of the restaurant so do a loop to check before paying in the lot. Dress code: didn't seem to be one, there was a broad range of outfits. Atmosphere: When we entered there were SO MANY FLIES and some bees, just buzzing around the front door inside and out with nothing to deter them. Escargot: Amazing, the shallot butter was delicious and the fresh baked, crusty, sour dough rolls were made fresh before being brought to the table and sopped up the sauce perfectly. We did get it without mushrooms due to an allergy. Oysters: This was a special so won't always be available but they were high quality and delicious. My partner had the Ribeye, and thought it was good and cooked to a perfect medium rare but it also wasn't anything special, he felt like he could've gotten the same at Black Angus or Longhorn. I had the Henry IV (bacon wrapped filet mignon, artichoke) without the béarnaise sauce, ordered medium rare but it was more like medium, there was also a toothpick fully embedded in my meat so when I was eating it the next day I got a bite of wood. I wish there were more sauce options but the meat was well seasoned. Service: Great, they were attentive without hovering and our water glasses were always full. Not exactly the most accessible for mobility aides or larger bodies as it is in old town.
