Despite the warning, I decided to go in during the afternoon and found a friendly bartender, two couples at one table, and two girls at another. They didn't appear to be looking for a fight with me or anyone else, so I realized that the warning was unfounded. I didn't eat, but enjoyed a nice pint of Guinness and will probably visit again when I'm in London.
My friends came over for a week and stayed in the area so we met for few drinks in this pub. Drinks were cheap; loads of choices, food was good (2 friends chose beef burger and they said it was very tasty). Portion of chips was quite generous.
At last! A pub with decent food. This was our third pub, in one afternoon, in our search for a meal. It’s got a Greek influence on the dishes. We had burger and fries, chicken skewers and fries and I had the cod and fries. The cod was done in breadcrumbs and was clearly a bought-in frozen product, but, at £8.50 it was perfectly adequate. A decent pub meal. My colleagues enjoyed their meals, too. We had a few Marston’s “61 Deep” beers and would certainly visit here again.
Super Sunday with Premier league. Good place for watching matches. Nice pintas of Guinness. Typical English bar with sandwiches.
Best be in the in crowd here dangerous for anyone who does not support the right team is not the right race or religion. Worst experience I have ever had in a pub the landlord happily sided with those threading to rip the shirt off my Jewish friend
