Our group had a mixture of hot pot eaters and people who wanted to order from the ala-carte menu, both groups were fantastically accommodated. The meal was phenomenal and everyone remained full and satisfied. It was a bit more expensive than expected, but it is also expected that prices will be higher in a ski village. If you are in Hakuba and with a group of friends, I would recommend Izakaya Kaz. And please, enjoy some Hakuba pale ales with your food!.
Family of 4, had a great dinner next to the pub. We shared all dishes with 2 children under 12 years of age. Apple cake was a hit for dessert
Not only the usual izakaya food Also has decent sashimi, tempura, sukiyaki, shabu shabu, teppanyaki, wine. Beer and of course. Fast service. Okay prices. Reservations.
When we couldn’t get a table at Mansaku, we were looking for another Japanese restaurant nearby. We saw a set of red lanterns next to “The Pub.” At first the receptionist said the restaurant was full, however, we could see empty tables. We insisted and she finally agreed to seat us (otherwise, I would give it 5-stars). The staff has limited English but was very friendly. Although seemed short staffed for a full restaurant, they were attentive. With a sukiyaki set for 2, with drinks and dessert, we paid ¥10,200 for 2 pax. The food was excellent, the sukiyaki sauce was not overly sweet or salty. Warning: the ventilation is not great, so your clothes will smell!
Super good sushi and tempura. The okonomiyaki was very rich and a little overwhelming
