Brightly colored walls with original artwork make for a fun atmosphere. The sweet tea is a stout brew served up in true southern style with plenty of ice. The homemade dressings paired with fresh local produce will bring me back for more.
Update! Been here several more times and love the salads and atmosphere! This is the BEST place for a vegan vegetarian to eat in the area period! Vegi Options! The waitress and entire staff were excellent, extremely friendly and made us not only feel comfortable and provided great food, service and great portions! Will definitely be back here in the future! The order of fries below is a small, the large must be family sized!
After hours of driving, exploring our beautiful state with my husband. We decided to stop off at Jane Lew exit for gas. There I decided it was well past time for food and we should eat before hitting the road again. With a quick Google search I found this adorable family restaurant. With having good reviews I decided to give it a try. It seemed to be a busy Sunday afternoon with many cars in the parking lot. We were greeted warmly and pick our cozy booth. After skipping breakfast we were both pretty hungry and ended up trying multiple items from the lunch and dinner menu, at least half of which we ended up taking home. The place was decorated nicely, fast and pleasant service, food was absolutely delicious. They promise homemade with reasonable prices and they did not disappoint. This is a lovely family owned, family oriented restaurant. I am so glad we got to stop and try it out. If you are in the area I highly recommend.
Simply amazing! We had the brown sugar bacon jalapeno burger, the fresh homemade onion rings, the authentic Italian hoagie, and the fresh cut french fries. We also had the French onion soup and it was out of the world.
This is a terrific example of the Virginia way of doing the mom and pop family diner. A little bit older building, but we like a little older style anyway. None of the newfangled hype you expect in certain places. A good menu, and a pretty cool waitress. The food came quickly and wow, was it ever good! This is why I like the family run places! If we're in this part of town again, will definitely think about coming back here! Two thumbs up.
