I thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered, and the manager was incredibly attentive and hands-on, making sure we had a fantastic experience. The French fries with mushroom gravy, fried chicken and waffles, and chilaquiles were all delightful. They also had a small market in front for the holidays, which added to the fun atmosphere.
We visited knowing that the restaurant had just opened four days prior, so we expected there might be some rough edges to smooth out. The waitstaff was enthusiastic and eager to assist, but they seemed a bit inexperienced; dishes took a while to arrive, and drinks came at inconsistent intervals—one was even served without alcohol. On the whole, the food was quite good. The menu was inviting, and I enjoyed the variety of choices, all at reasonable prices. The chicken wings were tasty but could have had more meat on them, while my lobster roll was outstanding. I'm hopeful they can iron out these initial issues because I would love to return.

On the other hand, I tried the black zuchette with blue crab, and it was absolutely outstanding! The dish featured a hint of garlic and jalapeño paired with a generous portion of crab meat. The black pasta made for a uniquely interesting presentation. My girlfriend ordered the rigatoni with bolognese sauce, and she raved about it; she’s a huge fan of bolognese and found it comforting and authentic. I can’t recall the exact total of the bill, but it was quite reasonable given that we had two drinks each during happy hour. The service was excellent—very attentive throughout our meal. However, the decor felt a bit sparse. I understand the aesthetic they’re aiming for, but it feels like that’s becoming the norm in Jersey City. It would be great to see something a bit more distinct.
