Wait staff very friendly. Clean place. Sesame chicken very good. Potstickers very different and good, lots of meat.
The title really says everything. I'm a regular customer in this restaurant. I'll go every week or two. I loved good Chinese food and have a lot of experience eating it's state side as well as in Japan and a few times in Hong Kong. You always know that a Chinese restaurant will be either very American or very authentic. There is usually no middle floor. Well, somehow Chopsticks flirts both sides of this line. You have good standbys you can find in any American Chinese restaurant, but no overseas. You have amazing tasteful dishes that I had only seen in Asia. until I was here. You have cool fusion dishes you should try at least once as the House Special Chicken that brings Jalapenos into a large agitator frit. On Sunday morning they also known a Chinese delicacies as a dimming sum. Now I love dim sum and met it first in San Fransisco 's porcelain town and in Sacramento. I had it in Japan. When I moved to Iowa, I was uncertain if I ever had it again. However, Johnston brings a reasonable selection of courts to the table for a very reasonable price. They serve an excellent lunch for under $7, a soup, the main dish, and your choice of either fried rice or white rice. Dinner is also great at under $12 and offer enough food for another lunch the next day. If you have a larger gallery, you can order court to court. One of my favorite meals is a bowl of Winton soup $4) and an order of Potstickers $6). Both are the best variety of the dish I had outside Chinatowns, and even then they give these places a run for their money. The only drawback I noticed in the year is that they can be quite understated. As regular I know that this is because it is a family business and they are lucky to have two family members as a server. This disadvantage can be sustained by dirty tables that are covered in dirty dishes as they try to maintain times during the busy meal. It can also lead to easy waiting times for refills in beverages and the occasional error on an order-cab ringoon instead of an egg roll). To their credit they will delete a table where you want to sit and correct any mistake. That's why I keep going back. I'm regular because I know the staff and they're very nice to me. I can forgive them for things about which others become buzzed and say that this is unacceptable and write a star on other sides. You can't beat the price, taste or staff if you know them.
