Some people may like that, but it's not a place to go if you want a true dining experience. The food is good and the service is good. It's just too damn fast.
Sorry but this trip your food for two of the three of us was very sub par for Roy's, Kaanapali. The chicken salad was making flavor and not well constructed, very limited chicken too.
What a disappointment. We had not been in many years. The place had really gone to seed. The first bad sign was the amateurish “Please Wait To Be Seated” sign which looked like it was printed on a laser printer 10 years ago. A real restaurant would always have a greeter. The staff was rushing around like crazy people. Our server barely spoke to us. My wife's fish was severely undercooked. And finally the prices suggest a Michelin Star experience but the restaurant missed that mark by a mile.
It's been a long time since I came here. had maitai and I was pleasantly surprised that it was good!! I just wish it was in a pretty glass. It was the same as the water glass so it didn't feel as good. And we ordered crabcakes and Brussels sprouts for pupu, grilled prawns and seafood duo for entree. Everything was great!! Just one thing I wasn't a big fan of was that peanut red curry sauce , little too sweet for me. My son and I really enjoyed our dinner. Maybe they got busy, we had to wait for a long time after dinner for desserts so we decided to leave. We would come back again!
Not the wonderful experience we have always experienced at any Roy's. Probably due to the devastating fire that destroyed Lahaina a year ago. We will go another time hoping for better service and ambience.
